
MEMOS in English Welcomes Sport Governance Expert Shushu Chen
Associate Professor Shushu Chen from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom has joined MEMOS English. The MEMOS XXIX cohort will meet Professor Chen during the Strategic Management and Governance session in Olympia, Greece, where she will teach alongside Professor Donald Rukare of Uganda.
Professor Chen‘s principal research interests include sport policy analysis, event management, and impact evaluation. She focuses specifically on the impacts and legacies of major sporting events, and has worked on several high-profile events, including the London 2012 Olympics, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and the Beijing 2022 Olympics. She is currently leading a cross-disciplinary team examining the legacies of major sporting events for local communities, particularly those from marginalised and disadvantaged backgrounds.
