MEMOS Coffee Break with Danielle Lopez and Lee Robinson
In honor of Women’s Month the MEMOS Coffee Break team invited Mandella recipient Danielle Lopez along with MEMOS Professor Lee Robinson to speak Lee Robinson opened the coffee break speaking on gender equality in Sport – from the strides being made for equality like Tokyo’s same number of male and female athletes to areas that can be improved like the composition of many Sports organization boards.
Danielle Lopez addressed how we can all be better allies in Sport by properly assessing risk and addressing abuse. One aspect of her research highlighted how environments can contribute to abuse. “Effective risk management strategies are dependent on understanding the environment and the factors that are actively driving up and down risks. However, the current climate and conversation around abuse in sport has yet to mature to a point where environmental risk assessment and management strategies can be applied.”
Save the Date! Our next MEMOS Coffee break will be on Thursday April 8th at 4pm CET, “Business Resilience in the Sports World after COVID-19”.
