Presenting the MEMOS XXVII in English Graduates!
MEMOS XXVII met in September 2024 at the International Olympic Academy in Greece after completing their pre-module work online. After a whirlwind of meeting the graduating MEMOS XXVI, Strategic Management and Governance, ancient Greek Olympic lore, Human Resource Management and the beginning of their research project module – they were off on their journey of MEMOS.
In January, they met in Morocco for Olympic Sport Organisation Management and project data interpretation.
In May, they met again in Cyprus for the Financial Management module, Project and Event Management, and reviewing how to present their evidence in their thesis projects.
A full year later, they met in person again for their Project defense, public presentations, and graduation.
IOC President Kirsty Coventry presided over the graduation. She started the ceremony out with a question to the newest MEMOSians: “I’m really looking forward to getting some of your feedback. What would be the first thing you would do in my position?”
Responses came from Italy (Ms. Carlotta Giussani), Saudi Arabia (Ms. AlBatool S. Baroom), Iraq (Mr. Emad Nassir Hussain), Nigeria (Chidobi Deborah Ijeoma), and Botswana (Ms. Botho Kebabonye Bayendi) on topics ranging from governance and constitutions to education to women in Sport, and the strength of being disruptive. If you want to learn more out this outstanding cohort, you can view a few of their projects in the MEMOS English Database and learn about their Madella Award winner here.
Congratulations MEMOS XXVII and welcome to the MEMOS Family!
