Congratulations to MEMOS XVIII graduate turned Professor, Donald Rukare from Uganda! He was recently elected as one of three new Vice Presidents of the Commonwealth Games Federation during their General Assembly in Singapore earlier this month.

What else is Professor Donald Rukare up to? He has been competing in the Africa Aquatics Zone 3 Masters Championship! Team Uganda came first ahead of Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Rwanda with 6 medals (2 Gold in 50m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 2 silver 50m breaststroke 50m freestyle 2 bronze 100 breaststroke 50m butterfly). “I swim with local club the Formidables Swim Club (current Uganda National Masters Champions) and training for World Aquatics Masters Championships due in Doha Qatar next February 2024.”
