New MEMOS Professor Guillaume Bodet

Introducing our new MEMOS Professor: Guillaume Bodet, PhD, HDR

As MEMOS XXVII prepares for the presentations of their thesis projects next month, we have some news for our MEMOS Community. Meet our new MEMOS Professor, Guillaume Bodet, PhD, HDR.

A professor of sport marketing and management at UFR STAPS (School of Sport Sciences) of Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (France) and is also Dean of this school. He is very proud to continue the involvement of the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in the MEMOS programme, following the steps of Jean Camy, Alain Ferrand, and other professors. Before joining the University of Lyon 1, he was a lecturer for 8 years at the University of Loughborough (UK). He is also an Adjunct Professor at University of Ottawa (Canada).

He is currently President of the C3D STAPS, the French association of Deans of School of Sport Sciences.

As a member of the Laboratory of Vulnerability and Innovation in Sport, his research interests focus on the relationships between sport organisations and their audiences through a marketing lens and has published about 40 scientific articles, 30 book chapters and 3 books, and has collaborated with numerous sport organisations. He will serve as Lecturer in the Sport Marketing module and tutor.

Passionate about handball, he still plays when work and injuries allow him, and he is a board member of his local handball club.
